Patrick B. Fernandez is a contemporary visual artist who lives and works in Regina, Saskatchewan. Born in the Philippines, his paintings have been described as combining a surreal sensibility with subjects of subtle satire, political statements and cultural critique.
Working mostly on paintings, prints and mixed media his works touches on climate change and humanity’s responsibility to care for the planet but also speak to that sense of loss, personally feeling lost and searching for ways to improve one’s predicament.
Fernandez’ paintings actualize significant moments in his life when meaning is created by symbolizing immediate experience in the interest of heightened consciousness and personal growth
